AIP SOUTHERN STYLE BISCUITS
AIP SOUTHERN STYLE BISCUITS RECIPE
Ingredients:
1 and 1/2 cup cassava flour
1/4 cup arrowroot flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 cup melted tallow
1/4 cup coconut milk powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tbsp nutritional yeast
Approximately 4-8 oz of water (could be more or less depending on how your dough comes together in the mixer)
Olive oil for brushing on top
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit
Add all dry ingredients (all ingredients except tallow, water, and olive oil) in a large bowl for your stand mixer and combine thoroughly
Add melted tallow and run your mixer on stir setting with the dough hook attached
While running your mixer, slowly add water 1 oz at a time until the dough forms a ball
Let the dough hook stir and knead the dough for 5-10 minutes until the dough toughens
Turn off the mixer and remove your dough
Place the dough on a parchment paper lined baking sheet and flatten it to about 1 and 1/2 inch thickness
Use the rim of cup with a three inch diameter to cut out four biscuits
Brush the tops of the biscuits with a thin coat of olive oil
Bake at 400 degrees F for about 15-20 mins until edges are golden brown
Enjoy!
